Bacterial vaginosis is a common infection that occurs in the vagina and can lead to a foul-smelling vaginal discharge. Vaginal discharge is a term used by healthcare professionals to describe any fluid that comes out of the vagina. While some amount of vaginal discharge is normal, those with bacterial vaginosis may experience a significant amount of discharge or discharge that has an unpleasant odor. This infection is caused by certain bacteria that can change the types and amounts of bacteria normally found in the vagina. Bacterial vaginosis is more common in people who are sexually active, especially those with new or multiple partners. Those with bacterial vaginosis are also at a higher risk of contracting other sexually transmitted infections. Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis may include a fishy-smelling vaginal discharge that is watery and off-white or gray, particularly during menstruation or after sex with a male partner. Some people may also experience a burning sensation in the vagina.

Yeast Infection

A vulvovaginal yeast infection is a common infection that can cause itching, pain, redness, burning, swelling and irritation in the vagina and vulva, which is the outer lips of the vagina. The most common symptom of a yeast infection is itching in the vulva. Other symptoms may include pain, redness, or irritation in the vulva and vagina, pain during urination, pain during sexual intercourse, and abnormal vaginal discharge. The discharge may vary in consistency, appearing either thick, clumpy, cottage cheese like discharge or white, thin and watery. This infection is typically caused by a type of fungus called "candida," which is a type of yeast.

  • What is the difference between Semaglutide, Wegovy and Ozempic?
Semaglutide is the active ingredient in both Wegovy and Ozempic. It is a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonist, which means it mimics the action of the GLP-1 hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels and appetite. • How does taking Semaglutide work for weight loss?
Semaglutide promotes weight loss by acting on GLP-1 receptors in the brain to reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness after meals. It also slows gastric emptying, which makes patients feel fuller longer after meals, stabilizes blood sugar levels, and may directly affect metabolism and fat breakdown. These effects help patients consume fewer calories, manage cravings, and adopt healthier eating behaviors, contributing to significant weight loss over time.

  • Does Semaglutide need to be refrigerated?
Yes, the pharmacy provides strict storage instructions
  • How long will I need to take the medication?
There are no fixed guidelines for determining the duration of treatment with this medication. In clinical trials, patients used the medication for 52 to 68 weeks. Our suggestion is to continue taking the medication until you achieve your desired weight goal.
  • What is the science behind how Semagltuide works?
If you're interested in delving into the clinical trial that resulted in Semaglutide becoming the first weight loss drug approved by the FDA in 15 years, you can access it here. (make ‘here’ a hyperlink) (https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMoa2032183) Here’s a brief summary The trial lasted approximately 16 months. The average reduction in body weight from the start to week 68 (16 months) was −14.9% in the group receiving semaglutide, compared to −2.4% in the placebo group. Participants in the semaglutide group experienced a weight loss of −15.3 kg (33.6 lbs), whereas those in the placebo group lost −2.6 kg (5.72 lbs). Some participants discontinued the trial due to side effects such as nausea and diarrhea, but these were mostly mild and manageable.
